Intermediate complexes in chemical and biological nitrogen fixation

چکیده
Mechanism of dinitrogen reduction in protic media is discussed in the light of results obtained for specially prepared binuclear complexes M"M with bridging dinitrogen capable to be protonated and reduced. The conclusion is made that such complexes with d2 or d3 electronic configuration of M together with additional electron donor are likely intermediates in catalytic dinitrogen reduction by comparatively weak reducing agents. Model systems are compared with the active center of dinitrogen fixing enzyme, nitrogenase.

متن کاملCatalytic transformation of dinitrogen into ammonia and hydrazine by iron-dinitrogen complexes bearing pincer ligand
Synthesis and reactivity of iron-dinitrogen complexes have been extensively studied, because the iron atom plays an important role in the industrial and biological nitrogen fixation. As a result, iron-catalyzed reduction of molecular dinitrogen into ammonia has recently been achieved. Here we show that an iron-dinitrogen complex bearing an anionic PNP-pincer ligand works as an effective catalys...

In order to study the effects of biofertilizers on yield quantity and quality of Capsicum annuum L., an experiment was conducted in completely randomized block design with three replications in 2011. All plants were treated before transplanting in pots in greenhouse condition by biological fertilizers including nitroxin and biophosphates. Treatments included 3 concentrations of nitroxin (1:3, 1...
متن کاملNitrogen Fixation via a Terminal Fe(IV) Nitride.
Terminal iron nitrides (Fe≡N) have been proposed as intermediates of (bio)catalytic nitrogen fixation, yet experimental evidence to support this hypothesis has been lacking. In particular, no prior synthetic examples of terminal Fe≡N species have been derived from N2. Here we show that a nitrogen-fixing Fe-N2 catalyst can be protonated to form a neutral Fe(NNH2) hydrazido(2-) intermediate, whic...
